History
Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering – Vietnam Aviation Academy was established on August 01, 2012 following Decision No. 500/QĐ-HVHK on July 07, 2012. The dean at that time was Dr. Lê Doãn Quang.
Organizational Structure
The Faculty of Aeronautical of Engineering currently has a team of 14 Lecturers, including:
- 01 Associate Profressor,
- 06 Doctors of Philoshophy (PhD),
- 03 Masters, and
- 04 Engineers.
Additionally, the faculty benefits from the expertise of numerous high-skilled professionals and guest lecturers.
The FAE is organized into four departments:
- Aerodynamics and Propulsion,
- Aircraft Electric – Electronics (Avionics),
- Aeronautical Structures and Materials, and
- Aircraft Maintenence and Management
Department of Aerodynamics and Propulsion
The Aerodynamics and Propulsion Department is a crucial discipline in aerospace engineering, focusing on the study of forces and air motion, as well as propulsion systems that generate thrust.
The Aerodynamics and Propulsion Department plays a key role in the development of advanced aviation technology.
Department of Aircraft Electric – Electronics (Avionics)
The Aircraft Electric – Electronics Department (Avionics) specializes in teaching and researching aircraft electrical and electronic systems, navigation systems, aircraft radar systems, communication systems, and automatic flight systems for commercial aircraft and UAVs. Specifically, the courses include:
- Flight Instruments and Navigation Equipment
- Aircraft Electrical and Electronics
- Aircraft Electrical Systems
- Aircraft Electronic Systems
- Aviation Electrical and Electronics
Department of Aeronautical Structures and Materials
The Department of Aerospace Structures and Materials is a leading academic and research discipline dedicated to advancing knowledge and technology related to aerospace structures and materials. The department focuses on the design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft structures using advanced materials to ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the aerospace industry.
Department of Aircraft Maintenence and Management
The growth and advancement of the aviation industry are always accompanied by robust aircraft maintenance and repair systems. For an aircraft to be airworthy, it must meet strict airworthiness standards, where technical personnel play an indispensable role in maintaining this standard.
The Aircraft Maintenance Management Department equips students with the essential knowledge to engage in daily tasks performed by aircraft maintenance technicians, enhancing their adaptability in real-world work environments. The courses taught include:
- Aircraft Systems
- Human Factors and Safety
- Maintenance Engineering Management
- Basic Practical Training
- Aircraft Maintenance Practices
Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering's Mission
The faculty is offering training in Aeronautical Engineering with three main career orientations for students:
- Aircraft Maintenance: Opportunities at VAECO, Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, SAM, and other civil aviation operators.
- Inspection and Evaluation
- Project Management and Maintenance
